One of the characteristics of a cult is that cult members adore their leader and will emulate their leader as much as possible. Donny Droppings is a member of Vladimir Putin's cult and practically lives to have Putin smile at him and tell him what a good boy he is. To earn praise and smiles, Donny has been willing to do anything that weakens America as a leader among world nations and increases Russia's power (especially emulate and support Putin).
The former Republican Party has been replaced by MAGA, the official cult of Donny Droppings. Since the leader of their cult will continue to work loyally for Russian interests if he ever regains power, MAGA Monkeys are working for Putin now by attempting to eliminate U.S. aid to Ukraine.
