Q NOTES # 343

Rick Perry was at least as rotten as Texas governor then as Greg Abbott is now, but Rick sort of vanished for four years after he left Austin to be a member of Cheez Doodle's so-called cabinet. He was supposed to be running the Department of Energy, but like Ben Carson at HUD, he apparently was just there to collect a nice salary and attend meetings. I don't remember him being the center of any particular controversies or committing any notable atrocities - unlike most of the other sorry assholes Cheezy plugged into executive branch vacancies.

Since Texas is making national news due to the massive failure of its energy policies, previously invisible El Perrito is publicly running his mouth again, insisting that Texans will gladly sacrifice their comfort, safety and security to avoid having any federal regulation of the state power grid (that collapsed last week). Rick, please, just sit down and STFU.

Meanwhile, there's a report in Newsweek that says Greg Abbott believes Texans being smacked with huge electric bills after the winter storm is unacceptable. Okay, I'm sure he's very concerned. Let's wait and see what the state does to correct this problem. Typically, any disaster that makes life tough for middle- and low-income Texans is viewed primarily as a profiteering opportunity for people in the top tier.

A new poll finds that 46 percent of (R) voters would switch to the Cheez Doodle Party if he started one. Let's see, what's 46 percent of 46 percent? Quick math says that's roughly 21.2 percent of voters. Yeah, that sounds like a juggernaut to me.

Ricardo 2.0

The all new Rick Perry is ready to be unleashed, even though he's still under indictment.

Let's face reality here. You can slap a little fresh paint on the surface, but underneath, the planks are still rotten and the foundation's crumbling.

Conservative columnist Bill McKenzie of the Dallas Morning News discusses reason number 8,462 to hate Rick Perry's guts.

Schoolin'

I've become mildly interested in the issue of home schooling as an educational practice, and started searching the Internet for curriculum materials. Not that I want to buy anything; I just wanted an idea of what's available to parents who need their kids to get a better education than those government schools provide. I found a science textbook that should prepare a youngster for MIT, Harvard or Stanford. A company called Apologia is apparently a major player in the home school curriculum racket, as is Bob Jones University.

Meanwhile in Austin, Rick Perry, budding dominionist, continues to dream of a Texan theocracy with himself as the high priest. The legislature, lacking anything better to do, passed a bill that evidently makes it legal to say "Merry Christmas" in godless public schools.

El Perrito could barely wait to make a public show of signing the silly-ass thing, complete with assurances to persecuted Christians that he's looking out for their poor, mistreated asses. It's getting harder to find vestiges of sanity in this state's government every fucking day. In Texas, it's "Get religion or get the hell out."

The Boom

This is the editorial cartoon that ran in the Sacramento Bee and caused El Perrito to get his knickers in a knot. Here's a thought, Ricardo -- for once, just STFU, okay?

Assholery Update

El Perrito crawled back to Texas like a whipped dog and was greeted by polls showing that in the state, he was less popular than Obama. You'd think that he'd be in seclusion, but no -- he's out there running his fucking mouth to any reporter who'll take notes. The asshole says he hasn't ruled out another run for governor in 2014 or even another run for the presidency in 2016. Fucking unbelievable.

Tragic

Rick Perry has relentlessly devoted time and resources in blatantly pandering to religious fanatics that make up the so-called social conservative movement. Now they've flatly rejected him in favor of the other Rick. Adding an additional element of irony to this tale, the decision to unite behind S-Rick rather than P-Rick was made at a ranch near Brenham, barely fifty miles from Perrito's beloved Texas A&M. All in all, a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.

Added 5:58 pm, same day:  While we're on this subject... if Romney wins in November, he should slam the White House doors in the faces of those who organized, attended and participated in this dog-and-pony show. He'll have won without the support of the social conservative movement's leadership, and despite their opposition... so why shouldn't he cut off their access ?

Really, who cares?

I'm getting a strong feeling that nobody gives a rat's ass about P-Rick these days except the major Texas newspapers and a small number of the dullest Republican dullards. Someone probably told P-Rick that if he quit the race, he'd have to pay back all the money that was contributed to his campaign. That would explain things.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

So which is it ? In or out ?

This morning's headline at USA Today stated that after getting his ass whipped in Iowa yesterday, P-Rick was "suspending" his campaign and heading back to the safe haven of Texas to "re-evaluate" his chances in the clown parade for the GOP nomination. At last, I thought, maybe we're rid of that asshole as a threat to the future welfare of America. P-Rick told his few remaining supporters that the campaign had never been about him. Lying motherfucker... his entire political career has never been about anything but Rick Perry. Oh well, WTF. He's gone, so who cares ?

By the time I finished the daily crossword puzzle, the headline had changed. P-Rick was now tweeting that he's moving on to South Carolina. He apparently believes he'll be able to round up Moochele's percentage of the evangelunical vote now that she's seen the light and is hanging it up. That would get him into the 12-16 percent range. As a good ole Texas boy, he probably imagines that he'll appeal to the rednecks and crackers in SC more than a yankee from Pennsylvania like S-Rick. So if he can peel off a nice chunk of The Other Rick's religious crazies support... HOO-HAH !

Ricky Retardo's brain fart

NOTE: UNFORTUNATELY CNBC HAS EXERCISED ITS COPYRIGHT AUTHORITY AND THE INCRIMINATING VIDEO DEPICTING THE IDIOT FROM TEXAS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Another awesome intellectual display from the longest-serving governor in Texas history. Where's George W. Bush when we fucking need him ?

Perrito's mother and daddy were interviewed by an AP reporter and claimed that America needs this asshole in the White House. Even his parents should know better than that.

Penny-Pinchers

El Perrito's tax plan would make life easier for Warren Buffett and Rick Perry. And when we get right down to it, isn't that what's really important ?

Meanwhile, in Washington D.C. Republicans are pissing and moaning about large cuts in the defense budget resulting in the loss of jobs. Really ? Government spending can affect employment ? They need to make up their minds about that once and for all.

Summer walks in Texas

Judging by the amount of water on driveways and sidewalks and in the street, some Texans seem to think you can grow concrete and asphalt using lawn sprinklers.
