Q NOTES # 805: Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down

Apologies to Kris Kristofferson, who wrote the song.

(A) I read an interesting commentary @ Palmer Report that made what I consider an important point: Trumplickans constantly worry about horrible problems that don't actually exist in the real world, but go out of their way to avoid dealing with horrible problems that are killing us, literally or figuratively.

Trumplickans are currently struggling with these urgent horrible problems:

  • The 2020 election was fraudulently stolen from Donnie Phlunk (No, it wasn't).
  • Critical Race Theory is taught in public K-12 schools. (No, it isn't).
  • White replacement is happening. (No, it's not).
  • Public schools are covertly grooming "normal" children to become gay or transgender. (No, they aren't).
  • Abortion, marriage, and gender rights present a greater threat to America than Russia does. (They don't. That's just craziness).

(B) It might be exaggeration to call it a matter of common sense, but it should now be fairly obvious that Phlunk's current scam is as follows: He'll hang around the edges, hinting that he's running without establishing an official 2024 presidential campaign. This will allow him to rake in as much $$$ in public donations as possible, while pocketing every dime for his unregulated personal use.

This is the kind of shady Phlunk crap the mainstream media outlets ignore, rather than explore.

(C) Schmo Brooks, who crawled under the radar for a long time, is now recognized as one of the Trumplickans who will always rank in the top quartile of Rottenest People in Congress. Like most of the other band members, Schmo can't resist an opportunity to say something stupid on TV, and he's done it again by insisting unrestricted gun ownership is necessary to ensure Americans will be equipped to overthrow a tyrannical federal government.

This is a tired attempt to link the NRA to the 2nd amendment's "well-regulated militia" condition. What Mo didn't say is that if tyranny comes, it will be in the form of a fascist dictatorship enabled by Trumplickans in public office, and that he's already been exposed as one of the fascists. Most of those gun crazies will be defending the fascist state, not defeating it.

Summer walks in Texas

Judging by the amount of water on driveways and sidewalks and in the street, some Texans seem to think you can grow concrete and asphalt using lawn sprinklers.
