Q NOTES # 325: Wednesday's Game

The fissure in the (R) Party divides a small group of traditional right-wingers (Group A) and a large group of fascists who are devoted followers of El Cheezo (Group B). There seems to be a third group with members who don't mesh comfortably with either of the main groups. These people (Group C) are trying to straddle the fissure. The game we're playing this week is trying to pin down which (R)s belong in which group.

As of this morning, I feel pretty safe in assigning Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney to Group A since both are clearly part of the traditional conservative establishment, and both voted to impeach Cheezy. This week's headline grabber is Rep. M.T. (Empty) Greene, the poster gal for Group B. Finally, Marco Rubio is a classic example of the Group C fissure-straddler.

In my opinion, the problem that's developing for the (R) Party is as follows: Cheezy's no traditional right-winger; he's a TV performer who played a successful business tycoon on TV back when, then tried to play a U.S. president on TV for the last four years. His only interest is himself, not the (R) Party, and loyalty is strictly a one-way street (to him). He's best described as a corrupt, incompetent mental case.

The fascists in Group B constantly compete for Cheezy's attention and approval, but the only ones he smiles upon are those he can use: people who are corrupt, incompetent mental cases like himself. Any political party built on the foundation of loyalty to El Cheezo will eventually be a party completely filled with corrupt, incompetent mental cases.

Summer walks in Texas

Judging by the amount of water on driveways and sidewalks and in the street, some Texans seem to think you can grow concrete and asphalt using lawn sprinklers.
