Q NOTES 292: A New Year

I read an interesting take @ DAILY KOS this morning. Cheez Doodle has made GOP politics completely about absolute loyalty to him and him alone. Much of what happens as we move into the new year and beyond will be affected by the durability of that loyalty to him alone after he's out of office and no longer the dominant figure in public life. The election in November proved that most Americans are more than ready to move on, and it's possible that some percentage of his current supporters will lose interest too.

It's also a safe bet that a lot of ambitious (R) politicians aren't happy about becoming permanent subordinates to a mental case like Cheezy. The exceptions are worthless parasites like Louie Gohmert, who are already as high in the pecking order as they'll ever be. What about those who can still visualize a brighter future for themselves?

Summer walks in Texas

Judging by the amount of water on driveways and sidewalks and in the street, some Texans seem to think you can grow concrete and asphalt using lawn sprinklers.
