This afternoon, I watched the SEC championship game on CBS and was reminded of the things I always loved about college football. Alabama (12-0) versus Florida (11-1). Two programs that have it all: excellent coaches and talented players, outstanding offenses and defenses, and capable kicking games. Two really good teams trading body blows all afternoon, the lead going back and forth, and Florida finally pulling ahead late in the 4th quarter for a 31-20 victory. It was one of those games so well-played by both teams that it's a shame either had to lose. Florida should be a handful for any team they're matched against in the BCS title game.
I couldn't avoid feeling a little envious and thinking about how much fun football season would be if I had a team like Florida, Alabama, or USC to support. Maybe someday, before I die...

Summer walks in Texas
Judging by the amount of water on driveways and sidewalks and in the street, some Texans seem to think you can grow concrete and asphalt using lawn sprinklers.
