While he was in Germany, Barry cancelled plans to visit wounded soldiers in the medical facilities there. There are various explanations for the decision floating around the internet and the news media, most of which make sense, but one thing is certain: Ace and his supporters have found something else to blow out of proportion and get all outraged about. Ace has quietly been remodeling his campaign to fit the Karl Rove pattern, and I won't be surprised when it's revealed that Rove is an unpaid consultant. The really sad part is that a lot of people, some of whom are reasonably intelligent otherwise, are falling for this shit. Pathetic.
As disappointing as it is to say it, this is one more reminder that Top Gun really had me fooled for a long time there. I had hoped the Bush/Cheney/Rove nightmare was finally ending, but actually, it's just transitioning into version 2.0.
