Right in Front of Us

Joe Conason has written the story that every journalist should be writing for every media source for the next 12 months. Most people in the United States are in agreement that Donnie Phartz is probably the worst so-called precedent (sic) in history, but most of us chalk it up to his complete lack of qualifications for the position, or his corruption, or the fact that he's some kind of mental case.

We need to be taking a closer look at what he's actually accomplishing with this constant destructive behavior, and ask ourselves one question: Aren't the results of this chaos exactly what Vladimir Putin would be getting if all his wishes were being granted? This might be written off as a really weird coincidence if Russia hadn't interfered in the last election to ensure that Phartz won, if Phartz hadn't been ass-deep in shady deals with Russia for years, and if Phartz wasn't behaving exactly the way he'd be expected to behave if he was controlled by Putin and the Russian government. Has Phartz done anything that Putin wouldn't do if he was personally in charge of the executive branch of this government?

Sometimes the truth is hiding in plain sight, but we just refuse to accept it.

Summer walks in Texas

Judging by the amount of water on driveways and sidewalks and in the street, some Texans seem to think you can grow concrete and asphalt using lawn sprinklers.
